Sirhowy Valley Country Park
Ride rated ‘RED’ due to combined technical difficulty of trails and fitness level required. As long as you can keep slogging it up the hills, we’ll wait for you.
9:30am roll from Sirhowy Valley Country Park car park (NP11 7YD) near the ‘waste transfer station’ just off the Full Moon roundabout near Cwmcarn. The car park can get busy with dog walkers, but you can park on the access road. Parking is free and there is no height barrier. If you drive through the gate and down the road that car park at the end is pay and display, but there is no need to go looking for that.
Aiming for approx. 40km and 1,600m of climbing. This is my favorite loop from the summer. I took Dan on Wednesday to guinea pig the trails as I’ve not been since I broke my wrist. We both survived, so the ride is on! We checked out a ‘new’ trail as well, so you’ve got that to look forward to if you make it to the end 🙂
Bring some money for the cafe stop, your climbing legs and your most confidence inspiring front tyre 😉
