Just thought i would throw this in for a giggle, 1998

Short and sweet this month.

We continue to have a trickle of new members taking advantage of the late joiners £10 membership, and still quite a few enquiries per week.  We are over 90 riders in the club now and a warm welcome to LauraL our 11th woman rider.  Remember we are coming up to half way through the Bigfoot year so the membership fee from Oct is halved.  If you need to re-join then click here

All banking done and up-to-date and we have around £500.

We will use some of this for the prizes for the Awards at the Christmas party and also the dirt worker has died so we will get a new one.

Christmas Party

All booked and we have 31 people coming along which is great news.

Awards for 2014
Contributor of the year
Most improved rider
Racer of the year
Mechanical of the year
The mystery prize, does someone deserve recognition?
….so holders please buff them up and others start getting your thinking caps on.   A voting page will go up on the web site this week and all to take part please.

Rides for next year

Susanne recently put up a post for some targets for next year for club participation.  Keep your thoughts coming in and we will hope to have plenty of riders out and about representing.

Mountain Bike Alps Week Away – Summer 2015

I am getting the feeling that a fair number of club riders could be keen on a week away in the Alps (or similar) next year as their main mountain biking adventure.  There are soooo many possibilities on venues and rides so we will have a look at three to start with to try and slim down to a favourite.  Trying to get something that will appeal for all, for newbies to the Alps to the hard-core pros from the club, will be key.

PS and yes Scotland will still be going ahead….

Road ride long weekend – Wales and the Brecon Beacon area

Looking at a long weekend 4-5 days for some awesome road riding.  Not quite the Alps but just as good with epic climbs, stunning scenery and great riding possibilities.

Club toys for all members

The club do have a few toys that are there for all club members to use.  These include:
Go Pro Camera with all the mounts, batteries and SC cards
Club Easy Up 5×5 metre orange (gazebo type thing)
Club flags x 2
Car plug in bike washer

If you would like to use any please just post on the forum and the current holder will be in touch.

  1. LOL, is that a fresh faced Janet on the left, and Jono in the middle?

Has Graham ALWAYS had a beard 😉

Yes to Scotland!! Very tempted by the long road ride weekend. Good prep for the Velathlon if it’s planned before the event.

  2. Nice one, recognise Janet (nice Ronhill’s there!) and Mike Carden behind….

I would be up for an alps mtb trip next year, gotta get my hands on another V10 carbon 😉
