Bigfoot MBC Events 2014

It may not seem like it at the moment looking out of the window… but summer 2014 is just around the corner, at least that’s what I keep telling myself! With this in mind, and as the new event co-coordinator for BMBC I have updated the calender to include some fantastic local mountain biking events that will be taking place over the next 9 months. As always we’re  looking for both team and individual entries depending on events and categories etc, so get your names down early and lets get some plans in place.

As well as the organised events, we have our own away days to get penciled in. There are entries already for Scotland and the Alps trip, but we will also be looking to get dates planned for the usual trips like Afan, North Wales, Cannock, Quantocks, Mendips and more. If anyone has any suggestions / plans about dates they’d like to get these in place let me know and I can get the calender updated.

Happy riding guys 🙂

  1. I had a thought about a Wales trip: mosey on down to Brechfa for the trails there, then overnight in Rhayader before doing the Rhayader-Elan Valley route. Last year we did it in July and it was sweltering, but appreciate this year there’s lots on in the Summer so difficult to fit in.

  2. another one, mini enduro series for 2014 and note dates for FOD. I know DanK has entered the FOD one SarahJ did the FOD last autumn so something local and something a bit different without an out and out race
One Industries Mini Enduro Schedule 2014 including the The Trailhead Senior Series.

Sunday 27th April 2014 – Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire (New Stages)

    Sunday 31st August 2014 – Eastridge, Shropshire
Sunday 2nd November 2014 – Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire

  3. Congratulations on your new position Simon.
I am signed up for the F.O.D wild boar but must get my skates on and book more.
Will sign up for the F.O.D enduro again I think.
    Cheers for the nudge men.

  4. I have just entered this for all you roadies if Si you want to add this as well please to the ride guide? I am in the for 100 miles and its one I have wanted to do once and I am being point man for a couple fof slower mates if anyone else wants to join the party.

    Sunday 23rd March
Roaring into its fourth year, The Lionheart has worked hard to establish itself as one of the UK’s most favoured cyclosportives. Organised by in inventive bunch of cyclists, Spin Events’s early season following is rightfully deserved. Voted once again as one of the top sportives of 2013 by ‘Cyclosport’ riders; they’re back in the saddle on Sunday 23rd March 2014, enjoying the splendour of Longleat Estate as the start and finish point of The Endura Lionheart Cyclosportive…

With 3 years of glowing reviews from riders tucked securely under it’s mane, The Lionheart is a perfect, early season ride, that will really stretch out your winter legs. An abundance of challenging hill climbs await riders – coupled with fantastic views, and fast descents, with the added thrill of riding close to the big cats at Longleat – riders can be assured of a challenging and memorable day.

Both 100 mile and 100 km routes have been altered and tweaked – now perfectly suited to the month of March (2013 ‘Lionhearters’ will recognise the weight of this statement!).

Come and join us and see what all the fuss is about……..

  5. Cheers guys… john, already added… Jason… Good suggestions, will add them in… Mike, I had a south Wales explorer (Afan + brechfa) overnighter already penciled in, should be single track overload 🙂 I’ll add the Rhayader-Elan Valley route as well, fingers crossed it won’t be as hot as last year…

    Anymore for anymore?
