Dean of the forest

Apart from being woken by my niece and nephew at 0630, Sunday morning was a pleasant one, the lesser spotted sun was out and my first dirty outing in I don’t know how long called. Outside Pedalabikeaway I met up with Dean, Kev,Russ and then Tim made a surprise appearance. Kev went off with his son leaving just the four of us to enjoy the lovely weather together. The FOD trails are starting to dry out in places making for good times however after so much time on the dark side the feeling of a bike moving about in the still muddy in places trail felt a little alien. Dean as normal took in all the classics and in fairness, left Tim and I for dead at times, proving there is no substitute for time in the MTB saddle. Russ did well but had a hard ride down to the tyres on his stead I would guess? He also had a puncture after a short time but luckily our new vice chairperson was (please brace yourselves) on hand to help out. At times going got heavy but good company and renewed enthusiasm made for a great day out. Hopefully there are many more to come with spring peeking its nose around the corner and talk was plenty of organising some trips to Scotland and Wales, I for one can’t wait!

Sorry to disappoint you. But this is clearly Tim’s body double.

It really was me……I must be getting wise in my old age, I helped fix a puncture and washed my bike!
Thanks to Dean for leading us through some cracking trails that were holding up pretty well considering the weather we’ve had. I really enjoyed getting back on the MTB, roll on Saturday!
