Cleeve Loops
Dan W, Janet, Kieran and myself went for a blast around Cleeve tonight, in the beautiful evening weather – a bit breezy on the top but not too cold; no blizzards tonight. We got around pretty quickly, felt fairly quick anyway?! I led us out on some loops, as I did have a bit of a worry of getting us all lost up there – not a great place to be lost and easy to get lost. We took in some good climbs and some fun sections and towards the end we headed to the whoopy downhill sections where I have to own up to a little off, banging my wrist…but hey I’m typing this so here’s hoping it will all be healed up by Sunday!
Good to get up to Cleeve; lots more up there – will work out a longer route for next time.
Until next time…

Dom, thanks for taking the lead. See, it is not too bad and rather fun. With delight I have noticed that you have already announced a next time.
Yes, it was okay – however I was worried about getting lost almost all ride!! Lol
– it was chasing Janet and Dan that did it!! Must learn to follow, as opposed to chase
I want to lead a longer Cleeve Ride but will joint lead with Steve as he knows it very well. I will organise another Cannock trip very soon too – BTW Cannock Chase will appeal to all riders I think, from intermediate to advanced to expert
Also I was a bit red faced having an off but hey ‘of one isn’t falling off, one ‘aint trying hard enough’
Dom, well done for taking up the lead, sound like you all had fun ( jealous ).
Glad you’re OK Dom. Don’t worry, I had an off too on Tuesday. I couldn’t stop on a descent so I threw myself down on some soft dirt and leaves! Much better than riding into trees
Nice to see a Cleeve Ride up and another ride leader. Dom, just don’t tell anyone you’ve missed a junction, trail out ect:)
Nice one Dom! Do you have any pics? Newsy items always look a bit bare without, although you can always pop up a forum post instead (although I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not the easiest to work out how to do that!).
Good plan William! Sorry Andrew, no pics
I was up on Cleeve on Tuesday night, got lost in thick fog/cloud cover. As long as you don t ride over a cliff you will always find your way off the hill. There are some good rides heading out towards the Cotwalds from Cleeve as well as riding around the common.
