Easy Riders: Welsh away day, grade red, UPDATE
| 31 March, 2012 |
For all those who cannot do the ‘brutal’ Sunday ride but do not want to miss out on a Welsh adventure. I have two rides in mind but have not yet decided:
Option 1: The Blorenge (Wales Mountain Biking guide, p 7), 17 km, 660m ascent, 3 hours, starting point: LLanfoist, driving time from Gloucester to start point : ~ 1 hour 10 min
or
Option 2:Mynydd Llangorse (Wales Mountain Biking guide, p.19),31km, 820m ascent, 4 hours, starting point: Llangorse Lake, driving time from Gloucester to start point: ~ 1hour 30 min
Both rides are graded as red in the guide book. In the Welsh guide book red means red. Including travel time we are looking at 5hours (option 1) to 7 hours (option 2) away time.
Please vote. Of course if the weather is bad we will ride locally.
The winner is: Option 2
Meet 10:00 am at Llangorse Lake http://g.co/maps/dbju6. On the map it looks like there is a car park on the north shore of the lake.

Either sounds great to me!
I’ll have the Blancmange
I probably would not travel to Wales specifically for a 17km ride so my vote would be for the longer one. If the short one gets the most votes then I would be happy to do the local HONC training ride so no problem either way
I was going to accuse Dan of sitting on the fence but I’m now available to do either. Option 1 must be gnarly so I’ll go with option 2 please.
Would of luved to come with you guys but your a week too early for me,i have to work.
Pls sort another date
Ok, I relent, happy to go for Option 2. Mike, gnarly is a good thing!
You know it makes sense Squiz
should be good fun.
Will give this one a miss as silly people are buying all the fuel and I got about quarter of a tank, queue at Tesco was right out into the road last night, really silly. So hope people stop panic buying soon.
Andy, don’t let the non fuel crisis stop you. I’m sure you you can fill you car up before then
OK, the Beeb says Easter fuel strike is now “ruled out” by the union, but we could do some car sharing nonetheless. We can fit an extra two cyclists and bikes on/in our Peugeot (we have bike rack). Give us a shout if interested.

A lift would be great. Will email ….
