The 40 mile loop has been mapped, its got 2 big climbs (Burlington Combe and Cheddar Gorge) and has 975m of climbing with a cafe stop in Cheddar. The longer 68 mile loop has 1500m of climbing with a cafe stop in Wells.

Dont forget to bring your climbing legs!

This is a ride the closet club roadies have been attempting for months since seeing the Cheddar Gorge stage in last year’s Tour of Britain. Well now its becoming milder and ice isn’t such a threat (hopefully) its now possible.

To accomodate for all abilities there is a choice of two routes – a 41 mile /1100 metre loop (15mph/16mph average), and a longer 70 mile / 1500 metre loop (17/18mph average), both will have a cafe stop. The short loop will look something like this:

The longer loop will have extra flat miles in the middle of the ride. The start point will be confirmed in the next few days once I’ve worked out cafe’s/car parks but it will be in Cheddar somewhere, just wanted to give you all notice now.

If you want to come you wont be disappointed, the gorge is stunning and it will give you an opportunity to stretch those climbing legs!

Hmm, cheesy
